Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is a Farm Science Centre affiliated and supported by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). KVK is fully funded by the central government. Dr. Hedgewar Seva Samiti was entrusted with the responsibility of initiating and running the KVK for Nandurbar district.
The KVK acts as a link between farmers and the agricultural research institutions all over the country. The vibrant team of farm scientists at KVK reaches out to farmers through conducting trainings, Front Line Demonstrations.It communicates with the research institutes and gives farmers feedback to those institutions.
KVK Nandurbar is known all over the country for its innovations in extension methodologies. It has developed audiovisual training material in tribal dialects. It has a three-tier system of reaching the hundreds of farmers in all the eight blocks of the district. It has newsletters and phone-in support service for farmers from remote villages.
This KVK is currently nominated by the central government for piloting convergence of various government schemes.
